Matt Iseman shared a deeply personal message for World Cancer Day

The co-host had part of his kidney removed in 2007.

February 4 was not just Super Bowl Sunday, it was also World Cancer Day, a day designed to raise awareness and education about cancer.

The topic hit very close to home for one member of the American Ninja Warrior family. Co-host Matt Iseman had cancer himself in 2007. To do his part in raising awareness on World Cancer Day, he shared some personal memories from his time in the hospital.

Matt shared on his website: “In 2007, a tumor was found on my left kidney. The tumor was removed along with part of my kidney and it turned out to be malignant. I have been cancer free since then.”

Even during what must have been a very scary time, Matt was still able to have fun with his loved ones. We’re so happy he’s cancer free!

By the way, Matt’s mom may look familiar. She crashed the course during season nine!
