For Healthcare Professionals
Physician, Heal Thyself
As a fellow member of the healthcare community, I know all too well the challenges inherent in the medical field… challenges that contribute to the pressure of an already stressful environment. But everyone needs a little laughter in their lives, especially in a profession that too often forgets to laugh.
First, Do No Harm
Anyone who is a doctor, who knows a doctor — or has even been to the doctor — will relate to my comedy. I have a unique ability to poke fun at medicine while always maintaining a healthy respect for the “most noble profession.”
Laughter is the Best Medicine
I originally became a doctor because I really believe that laughter is the best medicine. Now, I put that saying to the test every day – and clinical studies have shown that less than one percent of my jokes are placebos!
If your audience has any involvement in the medical field, make an appointment to have me at your next conference, meeting, or event. I’ll make sure that every audience member goes home with a healthy dose of my favorite medicine – laughter!
Looking forward to insuring the good health of your next meeting,
– Dr. Matt Iseman
A Laughing Matter: How Arthritis Took Me from Doctor to Patient to Person
Before Dr. Matt Iseman started dispensing humorous one-liners as a professional comedian, he dispensed medicine as a licensed physician. But five years ago, soon after leaving his job as a doctor, he received a diagnosis that was anything but funny: He had Rheumatoid Arthritis. Since that diagnosis, he has been coping with RA while struggling to become one of the country’s top comedians. In this presentation, Dr. Iseman shares how the sense of humor and positive outlook that fuels his professional endeavors also helps him deal with life as a patient.
This presentation is ideal for patients of all ages dealing with chronic pain – especially the pain associated with arthritis – as well as for individuals who work in pain management environments and associations and/or organizations associated with arthritis and chronic pain.
This presentation is available as a keynote/general session program only, with the length of the presentation approximately 30-45 minutes.
This presentation is applicable to a variety of events, including patient and caregiver conferences, medical staff meetings, nursing conferences, physician meetings, awards dinners, annual conferences, and holiday parties.
Prior to his appearance, Dr. Iseman will make every effort to tailor the presentation so that it speaks directly to the needs and expectations of your audience.
